About Espesyal

Welcome to Espesyal Designs! Thank you for being here!

My name is Cristal Desrosiers & I am the stay at home mama running this business! I have always enjoyed making and crafting, anytime I create something I experience so much joy. Working with Polymer Clay was new for me and it quickly became my new favorite medium to work with. When I started learning more about clay & dabbling into making jewelry with it, I contemplated with the thought of running a business. I wasn't sure if it was something I should do or not. My husband being my biggest supporter really encouraged me to give it a try, as did many friends & relatives!

Prior to starting Espesyal I worked as a preventative case planner for 3 years, I have a bachelors in Psychology that I received from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. When I got pregnant with my son one thing both myself & my husband knew was that I would be staying home with our kiddo. I genuinely love being a stay at home mama!

A little more about me, I'm a Christian & I love Jesus! I'm Puerto Rican & live in Buffalo, NY. I was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico & I speak Spanish fluently. I studied Italian for 6 years! I enjoy cooking, reading, & my favorite season is a toss up between summer & fall. I love ice-cream and you can find me enjoying a vanilla soft serve on a waffle cone with sprinkles almost everyday in the summer!

Espesyal is the Haitian Creole spelling for "Special," & it is pronounced like "especial" in Spanish. My husband was born in Haiti & when I saw the spelling in creole & that it was pronounced the same was in Spanish I immediately knew this was going to be name of my business! It is a perfect representation of our family, which means so much to me!

Thank you so much for being here & for the support! It makes such a difference for my family & myself!
